Dear ones,
Join us on Monday March 31st for an evening of communion through prayer and feasting.

First, we will share a special zikr using a traditional large tesbe (similar to a mala or rosary) with 999 beads.

Then, maintaining an atmosphere of sacredness, we eat together in silence. Cleaning up and exiting the hall, as well, are done in silence.

This echoes a traditional practice within the Mevlevi tekkes (monasteries) where the dervishes ate every meal in silence, an opportunity to gather and share with one another the beautiful simplicity of communion.We’d love for you to join us. Simply RSVP to rumiseattle.org@gmail.com, and bring along your donation for the evening’s hall rental. We will prepare the food and the space. If you have any questions, don’t hesitate to email or call Scott at 206.784.1532.

When I say “lip,” it’s the lip of the Sea I mean;
when I say “nothing,” it means “nothing but You.”
It’s the sweetness that makes my face solemn:
it’s the fullness of speech that makes me silent.”
